Changing and Adapting
Well, things are changing daily. I almost can’t keep up with all of it. Today is April 7, 2025 and I just checked the prices for the artwork that I offer. As you can imagine, prices have gone up by about 40%, not including shipping and tax. My most popular piece of artwork, the Gallery Wrapped Canvas went up by nearly 50%! I can’t, in good conscience, pass that price increase along to my clients. I just can’t do it.
I love working with dogs. Money has never been a motivator for me to do the work that I love. I’ve always found that if money becomes an issue for me, than I have to stop the work that I’m doing. That’s just how my brain works and I won’t apologize for it.
So, we’ve come to “Red Monday” and I watched the stock market bottom out and prices for the materials for my artwork go up, up and up! I’ve worked very hard over the past 5 years to curate amazing artwork from labs all over the world, who are now being weighed down by tariffs. Tomorrow, this may change but until we are in a stable political environment where I can feel secure creating artwork for my clients, I have decided to offer ONLY high resolution digital files to my clients.
The good news is that means I can lower my price for a photo session, since I don’t have to factor in a product credit.
If you schedule a photo session, you can be assured that you will still have the same photo experience, and, within a few weeks, you will receive your private, online gallery from which you can download your digital files.
If you find that you do want artwork, I can still create it for you, I can recommend a lab for you or you can print your artwork yourself.
The other change that I have to make is that I can no longer travel outside of a 100 mile radius of Seattle.
