Yesterday I met a non-fiction book publisher to whom I pitched "Working Tails of the Pacific Northwest". She said that my book was too niche and that she didn't think there would be an audience for it. She also said it would be too expensive because I wanted to tell the stories with large images. Umm...the images are 90% of the story!
I went on social media just to post my frustration and to let my followers (all 25 of them) know that I'm not giving up but that I was feeling a bit deflated. Well, my followers came to my aid with so many words of encouragement, which is exactly what I needed! Thanks, guys! <3
So, today, I opened my Bookstore! Almost all of the books and calendars I have created are now available for purchase. Items will be added frequently, so be sure to check back often.
My weakness is promoting my work. The stories are there. The images are there. It's getting it out into the world to reach more people is where I'm stumbling. I'll figure it out, though.
Thank you for your support, friends!
Hugs to your dog!
